This morning I visited my previous primary school, neighboring boys and
girls schools. It’s very shameful to me, to plant thousands trees in
other part of the county when back at home the picture is grim, the
several charity initiatives I helped initiate in other parts of the
country stands high, in contrast I feel frustrated for the failure to
initiate tangible programs to save and mitigate against the vices of
insecurity, gender based violence, drug and substance abuse, FGM, high
infant mortality rate, the fight against Malaria in Africa, Kenya youth
for change- Sakata dance crew, early marriage to name but a few of the
social ills bedeviling the community, yet I attributes success to trying
out various ideas without discouragement and determination to reach
communities ultimate goals out of my circle-elsewhere or (DIASPORA), am
giant away and dwarf at home!
My focus theme would be betterment of
the environment for the future. In this regard therefore, environmental
conservation will take precedence over everything else, by taking bold
step as it’s our responsibility to make Mandera county a better place
and evergreen hub if measures to address the causes can reduce both
problems at hands.
The project ambitious plan will be to build, forested county, nation, free from famine and degraded environmental conditions.
Today, initiative had just been launched, in partnership with Mandera
south sub-county government representatives; this would also see the
enthusiasm in the young conservation club team in the school to be
re-introduced and implemented through school based agencies like young
farmers association, scout and reviving of 4K club.
The essence was
to try alienating the community from the inferior thought of inability
to thrive a better environment, empower the student and youth with the
necessary skills to survive the difficulties that have entangled them.
Despite all this challenges, we are passionately looking for productive
volunteering team who can’t get tired of the community initiative, even
though it is tough time to attend to these assignments to unlock our
mind to a new attitude and start significant change. Let us dedicate and
sacrifice our precious off time and introduce ourselves in meaningful
operation to save our environment and one day InshAllah we will enjoy
every minutes of our self-volunteering. It’s a great volunteering
activity to participate in, if only we spare 2-3 hours every Saturday as
we look forward to forging with any other interested partner.
It’s
great if we could provide highly dedicated, volunteering service to our
community, help to inspire young generation and re-frame a new mind and
mental attitude with our goals.
It remains the biggest challenges to our environment reduce wind effect, soil erosion that is associated with deforestation.
The initiatives will ensure it impacts positively to the community
include ensuring that knowledge to impart to families and institutions
for changes touching human lives. It’s time to leave the comfort zone
and stop residing on the desert and drought environment.
As our strategic objectives is to engage youths in the campaign as working towards planting over 80,000 trees before June 2016.
Provide practical learning for communities on how to create forest,
initiate capacity building and inclusive home garden practice by
visiting homes to plan, plan and encourage the aspects of garden on one
side and teaching of new rights on forest on the other, with plan to
double their capacity on the garden in the house as their homestead
totally changes as beautifying building, super home with lovely modern
garden and make significant treasures at the residential facilities and
give them a family living experience.
Garden practice can give one
some feeling, something one gets used to very easily, possible for the
individual to make it really work in great way, when it comes to
choosing, it’s good to have one with the best visual experience.
Our
efforts will one day bear fruits by giving hope to our people and
showing compassion to the rest of the county communities for the
suffering they underwent through ownership of proper garden, forest and
park practice program.
