"Walk with Nomad"
NGBM launch Walk to be held on October 1st 2016, at Mandera South Sub-County headquarter, starting at 7:00pm
The NOMAD WALK calls for attention to the urgent need for Peace, protecting Northern Kenya wildlife habitat and creates connection through the collective efforts that would result in greater security and protection of vital corridors.Of significance to raise awareness is the environmental injustices; In particular, quarry activities, deforestation destruction wreaked by charcoal burning, fencing of several new unneccesary settlements, environmental degregation and bush clearing contributed by road contractors. NGBM walk will motivate and inspire many junior environmental ambassadors trained by NGBM in dedicating their precious time, protecting birds, fight climate change, energy, peace and research students to benefits from the NGBM ongoing activities.
NGBM wish to give back and educate communities living around the wildlife habitat and eventually, the day will be marked with many unique activities.
The walk will finally unite several people from all walks of life to promotes education of protecting wildlife population from illegal poaching, killing for leisure, traditional belief, reckless lorry drivers during the night that lead to wild animals death, illegal human settlement at wildlife habitat that make them to become refugees and crossing over to neighbouring countries, creating many water poinnt, protect environmental injustices, educate the northern Kenya people to practice both livestock and operate on wildlife conservancy for sustainable basis and engaging communities at the grassroots level, is key in building peace process, protection of the birds, environment and wildlife through Nomad walk campaign as a way of boosting both domestic, international tourism, development of infrastructures and creating job for jobless youths in Kenya.
