NGBM ongoing projects of Tree Nursery, farming and kitchen garden at Mandera South and Kutulo Sub-County aimed at unlocking youth/ women’s potentiality in natural resource management, climate change mitigation and adaptation.
We decided to empower them by forming youth/ women groups -giving them the right tools, increasing their knowledge on how to plant Trees/gardens & farming, enhancing skills, and changing attitudes, behaviors, or instilling best practices with regard to sustainable natural resources management helping them to rise out of poverty. As part of the training rural Women and youth for environmental, economic and livelihood empowerment such program will continue to be offered in other Sub-counties within Mandera County before we extend to other areas within the Country.
NGBM establishes nurseries, training youth , and women groups in the two Sub-Counties, while handing over the nursery when the tree seedlings are of age to be planted. They must have consistent water supply for planted seedling to survive. We expect to announce the launch of this activity widely across the counties for a bigger impact.
This is part of what keeps us motivated, happy and enjoy great deal of fulfilment to accomplish our core objective of livelihoods development and in the interest of improving our environment sustainability.
