CAMPAIGN GREEN COUNTY, SUB-COUNTY, 5 KMs COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF HARMFUL OBJECTS ALONG NAIROBI-MANDERA HIGHWAY, 2015 AND BEYOND:
WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY 2015
Nomad green belt movement volunteer teams with a ground-breaking and vision has launched the collection and disposal of harmful objects along Nairobi-Mandera highway (B9).
The thorns, broken bottles, needles, empty debris, nails and different sharp objects have caused havoc and destructive to both motorists, and all those crossing the road on foot or motorcyclists.
This major road is the lifeline of the community; we have objectively selected this activity, because of the increasing unfavorable waste strewn all over along the roads. The risk factor is that, if not disposed off, will increase the cost of repairing punctured tyres, doctors’ bills for treating thorns wounds, which negatively impact on the living standard of the community and can turn down the economy of the county.
The volunteering teams have the capacity to waste management and disposal with focus on environmental protection and the need to promote actively, to strengthen and expand waste re-use and recycling systems for quality programs, very proactive and performance orientation.
Activity date 5th June 2015
