EARTH DAY 2016

Nomad Green Belt Movement joins the celebration of Earth Day 2016, today April 22nd.

Why Trees?

Trees help combat climate change.
They absorb excess and harmful CO2 from our atmosphere. In fact, in a single year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the same amount of CO2 produced by driving the average car 26,000 miles.

Trees help us breathe clean air.
Trees absorb odors and pollutant gases (nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide and ozone) and filter particulates out of the air by trapping them on their leaves and bark.

Trees help communities.
Trees help communities achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability and provide food, energy and income.

Plant a tree.  Activate your friends and social networks.

We can do this. #trees4earth

PROTECT NORTHERN KENYA BIRDS

Nomad Green Belt Movement volunteer team protects all forms of life!

Let's protect, care, stop bird deaths and migration especially these seasons when temperature is heating 40-42oC in Northern Kenya.

NGBM plan to kick off as an emergency, a households packages to save birds in the urban areas while next phases will benefits birds that survived from migration, birds diseases in hardest life in the arid desert land.

NGBM is setting an example for the rest of the world in new methods of protection for birds. In the arid area, there's no location specifically set aside as water point for birds and other creatures. But as a pilot project at Mandera South Sub-County headquarter we established  flooding area that's safe place for birds to land - for drinking clean water and bathing.

We worked hard on restoring and managing the few habitats all of the birds that use it. With our government not ready to spend monies to purchase and set aside critical land. Then as friends of humanity and justice for nature, we have decided to do it ourselves with very limited funds we have. It will be one of the best things we will have done in our life.

Action plans are all well and coordinated, but ultimately the only way birds of prey will be protected is to stop illegally killed them. They should all be held to account for the demise of these beautiful birds and other creatures. We should be more sustainable for the best results because it is never a good idea to trash one's own home planet. Pretty sad that birds also have to worry about their freedom and water too.

Thanks to everyone who are willing to join us for our exploration and we look forward to many adventures in the bush next phase.

We call upon Bird lover and Environmentalists, Join our campaign team to ensure a future for birds!
