We got the opportunity to speak to the school community by delivering a motivational talk to the entire students.

It's great achievement and fulfilment to be part of nurturing, instilling or inculcating good values and being a role model to school going children. We feel enlightened to be associated with such inspiration as NGBM. Young school children were motivated adequately to plant Trees not only in their school compound but also at their respective household.

The School Tree Planting projects connected students to the benefits of Trees and foster environmental stewardship. Tree planting is a great way to increase student interest in their local environment and achieve academic goals and excellent.

NGBM volunteer chairman, with the Conservation Action Team has pledged to introduce a wide range of biodiversity and  environmental projects at the beginning of next term. This is expected to inspire and make a difference in their school and within their community.

The students were excited engaged and encouraged by the NGBM visit to their school. We believe and envisaged a great transformation as we walk together into the future.

The Book Camp event was the first of its kind and hugely successful at CMJ primary Academy. The school Green park runs from Sunday to Saturday, jammed packed with all kinds of activities creating awesome memories and friends for life among student at school to exchange learning ideas.

Students returned hospitality when they entertained NGBM team and finally they attracted NGBM chairman to join them in rob jumping game. We're so pleased that we’ve been able to reciprocate with a lovely welcome at CMJ primary Academy.

BIRTHDAY GIFT

The School management presented a gift of goat kid to Nomad Green Belt Movement volunteers team during Tree planting on 2016 Birthday occasion.

SUCCESS STORY OF KUTULO GIRL'S MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL

The school was established February 2014, being the only boarding girls Secondary  School in the entire Kutulo Sub-County, with a population of 40 girls and one teacher is an environmental Champion.

Currently the school is host to a population of about eighty (80) girls with three (3) T.S.C teachers.  The two teachers fled due to insecurity last year 2015, after Garissa college and many terror incidents within Mandera and other counties.
With the effort of School principal Mr. Hassan Salat Mohammed who saved girls from Mandera County during Inter-clan clashes at Kutulo Girls Secondary who was then a Deputy Principal at the school, employed five locally recruited B.O.G teachers in replacement for the two non-locals who fled. Unfortunately, again two locals fled once again after the terrorist attack of security personnel vehicle 10 Km away from there school. Currently he's the only T.S.C teacher.

At the inception of the school, the institutions lacked water, fence, kitchen, laboratory and other facilities to mention but a few.

In the year, early 2015,  Nomad Green Belt Movement  (NGBM) volunteers team donated 20 seedlings to the school, in spite of the lack of water supply, and fence to keep away livestock from grazing around the school. The school management took the courage to plant and maintain the twenty (20) Trees.
With school Principal efforts  water was ferried from the main source which was about 2km using donkey cart, bodaboda, Tuk-tuk and at times water boozers to the school. The CS Adan Mohamed during Mandera County tour visited the school, and promised to assuage the burden of water unavailability hence drilled borehole recently.

The twenty Trees each were assigned to students who are members of Nomad Green Environmental, Wildlife and Peace club, to maintain it. The principal inspired the students by rewarding the best and well maintained Trees during the school closing ceremonies in presence of parents and members of School board.

Major challenges included stray animals encroaching on school fence attempts eat up the young Trees were thwarted away when the Security guards/Watchman was assigned since no proper perimeter fence were erected. Currently the school enjoys a serene secure environment as a result of proper fencing.

Agriculture being one of the subjects taught in the school, NGBM formed Nomad Green Young farmers club which earmarked a site for school farm and kitchen garden.

The Nomad Green Belt Movement rewarded the school effort by donating seventy two (72) more seedlings. This motivated the girls  hence promising the founder of NGBM Mr. Abdikalif that they will put more effort by planting another  2,000 more Trees and requested for provision of adequate Skills,tools/ equipment and training of twenty (20) young Nomad Green environmental, wildlife and peace ambassadors.

The girls boldly asserted their undying commitment to keepinh the school compound green. They acquired a change of altitude to disseminate the idea of afforestation to the rest of the community or household members within and outside thwie localities as they're about to break for August Holiday.

The girls were inspired to participate in an ongoing Essay Competition in both Coastal and Northern region. Ten girls volunteered to submit their    essays on various topics on environment, wildlife and peace.

The school principal Mr. Hassan requested NGBM Executive Director, the beginning of next term to plant more tall Trees along the school fence to act as wind breakers and fence.

The Nomad Green Young farmers club pledged to initiate a horticultural garden which they will use to generate income in future and supplement the nutrition in this region, which is depended on as far places like Isiolo, Nairobi and Garissa County for vegetables.

The Agriculture teacher Mr. Saddam Adan, who is also the patron of Nomad Green environmental, wildlife and peace club took his time and effort to impart Agricultural knowledge on planting and maintaince of Trees in the school.

Finally the entire schools teaching and non-teaching fraternity were fully motivated to participate in the programme initiated by Nomad Green Belt Movement.

We offer special gratitude to the students, teachers, subordinate and school principal Mr. Salat for the warm reception and good networking that we kept for longtime.

NOMAD GREEN BIRTHDAYS OF MR. ABDIKALIF ADAN & NGBM 9TH ANNIVERSARIES

As NGBM Executive Director I Abdikalif Adan celebrated my birthday and marked the NGBM 9th anniversaries on with great enthusiasm at Kutulo Girls Model Secondary School of Kutulo Sub-County.

The student fraternity joined us in planting Trees in their school compound giving me the opportunity to further explain to students on the importance of trees and the effects of global warming. We encouraged and motivated the students towards planting one or more trees to incorporate during their birthdays. NGBM team wants to make this day a special one, such that the students of the school would remember it forever with nostalgic memories.

This is a wave that cannot stop. This is an ejaculation whose time has come with a big well though positive impact.

It was a great privilege at  school, to have a successful well organized motivational talk to students before proceeding to the next school.  It was a great day, full of joy and happiness. We wish the students, teachers subordinate staff, and the management along life as Kutulo model girls family.

Thank you all for your incredible enthusiasm and a great feat, an achievement. God willingly, We hope to see you back soon!
